PolarFab was searching for entry level personnel who had an understanding of vacuum systems, concepts and terminology that could not be gained from the study of electronics, robotics or other traditional programs offered by technical educational programs.
Normandale’s program meets these goals.
PolarFab currently employs four graduates working in our wafer fab as equipment technicians. These individuals begin work with a knowledge and understanding of vacuum principles that can take months or years to acquire on the job.
I recommend this program to potential employees, as well as employees already at Polar Fab.

These programs provide an opportunity for current Cypress employees to become more knowledgeable about the semiconductor industry and its processes. The Nanotechnology programs help provide Cypress with better educated personnel who are able to apply that knowledge to our business processes.
We have actively encouraged our personnel to participate in these programs and we have had multiple employees go through these programs. Many have been promoted into higher level positions including maintenance, training, engineering support and supervisory roles.
We continue to encourage personnel who are interested in learning more about the semiconductor industry to check out the Nanotechnology program offered at Normandale Community College. They develop skills that are directly applicable to our work environment.
