What is Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology is the study and application of particles and features of the nanometer-size scale; (that is, features smaller than one micron, or micrometer, in size). This includes: thin films, fine particles, chemical synthesis, and advanced microlithography. Normandale Community College offers AAS degrees in Nanotechnology in the disciplines of Vacuum and Surface Science Technology and Semiconductor Processing.
